THE LOWDOWN: Here's a sample of a customer information leaflet written for housing provider, Places for People. Ten different leaflets were written to coincide with a new brand launch. Some of the information contained in the leaflets formed part of a customer's tenancy agreement so it was important to get it right. Again, use of plain English, bullet points and clear subheads make the content easy to read and understand. Well written customer information is good for business because it builds trust and can save the business money in staff resources. For a public sector organisation, good customer communication is vital for meeting regulatory requirements.
