THE LOWDOWN: Cumbria and Lancashire Community Rehabilitation Company (which provides probation services to low and medium risk offenders) was going through a massive change. Having recently been privatised through a Government contract with Sodexo, its staffing structure and services were changing. Stakeholders needed to know what was happening and what it meant for them. This newsletter was the first one created after the privatisation. I was asked to help create a content plan and write the articles. Some of the information was complicated so it was important to communicate it in layman's terms to reach a broad audience. News stories were intermingled to showcase the CRC's activities — particularly its success in managing offenders. Here are some sample spreads.
